Honoring My Aunt Kiesha: A Breast Cancer Awareness Tribute

October 1st, 2025

As we step into Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to take a moment to honor someone very dear to me, my Aunt Kiesha. In 2024, after years of courageously battling breast cancer, she gained her wings. Her passing left a space in my heart that will never be filled, but her love, guidance, and strength continue to inspire me every day.

My Aunt Kiesha was more than just family, she was my safe place, my cheerleader, and one of the most amazing women I’ve ever known. She carried herself with grace and joy, even through the hardest of days. She taught me the value of compassion and never letting life’s struggles dim your light.

Her story is not just one of loss, but of strength, awareness, and a true inspiration. Breast cancer affects millions of women around the world, and early detection can save lives. Too often, women put others before themselves, ignoring the importance of regular checkups, mammograms, and paying attention to their health. My aunt’s journey reminds me that taking care of ourselves is not selfish...it's essential.

This month, I dedicate my voice and my platform to sharing her legacy and spreading awareness:

  • Get Screened: Schedule regular breast exams and mammograms. Early detection makes a difference.

  • Support & Empower: If you know someone fighting breast cancer, be their support system, your love matters more than you know.

  • Educate & Develop: Encourage women to not only care for their health, but to continue developing their dreams, careers, and goals because women are pillars of families, communities, and futures.

Aunt Kiesha’s strength lives on in me, and I hope her story inspires other women to prioritize their health and embrace their power. This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I carry her memory forward as a reminder that we are stronger together, and that every woman deserves the chance to shine, thrive, and live fully.

💖 In loving memory of my Aunt Kiesha 💖

Forever missed, forever loved.
